Healing Trauma & Attachment Wounds in the LifeStar Model: Including the Latest Workbook & Curriculum Updates in Phase 2 for Partners

3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Trauma is a form of tremendous fear, loss of control, and profound helplessness.

In this session on healing trauma and attachment wounds, participants will learn skills to help their clients diminish the intensity of their trauma symptoms, enhance their resiliency and enjoy their life again. Widening the “window of tolerance” is necessary for trauma recovery. The wider the window, the easier it is to find agency, function effectively during stress, and to regulate afterwards. We will look at recent findings on some of the tools and skills such as mindfulness, yoga and breathing techniques, and how these tools can actually cause more harm if practitioners are not informed on the correct use and timing of these tools.

Participants will also learn the importance of knowing attachment styles of their clients and how they relate to healing trauma. Healing trauma is not a quick fix, there are no silver bullets. Often “slower is faster” in healing trauma. Participants will understand the importance of proper pace in treatment. They will learn that their clients need other people when healing attachment and trauma injuries.
